Explorers Go Bowling – District Youth Commissioners’ Forum

Date: 9th Feb 2022 Author: City of Newcastle Scouts

50 Explorers and their leaders gathered for an evening of bowling, to test their skill, and have an opportunity to shape the future of Scouting activity in Newcastle

Our District Youth Commissioners were pleased to hold their first Explorer Forum last weekend. It was great to see all the Explorers chatting with people from across the District, and meeting Team DYC to share their ideas to improve Scouting for the future.

As well as the forum, the Explorers and Young Leaders had the chance to have some friendly competition between the units (and leaders!) across 3 rounds of bowling.

This was a great opportunity for Explorers to take a role in leading our activity program. Looking to the future, Team DYC hope to champion a #YouShaped District of Newcastle – The future is bright!
