Top Awards Ceremony – Celebrating our Young People’s Achievements

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers from across the city received Their Chief Scout Awards in a ceremony celebrating the County’s top achievers

Young People from all sections, and all areas of Newcastle District received their Top Awards in front of friends and family, at a ceremony last Saturday.

Achieving a Top Award

The Chief Scout’s Award is the top award available in each section, young people must complete many badge requirements in order to gain the Chief Scout’s award for their section. It is a reward for years of dedication and hard work by the young people, all the while making an impact within their section and local community. The Chief Scout’s award can be worn on the front of the uniform, and shows that the Young Person has completed a series of challenge and activity badges.

Chief Scout’s Bronze Award – the highest award for Beaver Scouts

Chief Scout’s Silver Award, the highest award for Cub Scouts

Cubs from 1st Westerhope Scout Group are awarded their Chief Scout’s Silver Award, with special guest – Carl Hankinson, UK Chief Commissioner!

Chief Scout’s Gold Award – the highest award for a Scout

An Explorer from 100th Newcastle Scout Group celebrates achieving his Chief Scout’s Gold Award, the highest available award for Scouts, gained through hard work and dedication – it can only be awarded once you have gained 9 Challenge Award Badges and at least 6 Activity Badges. Well done!
