District Role Pool for 18-25s

This an exciting opportunity to join a new pool of 18–25-year-olds who have an interest in taking on a District role or being involved in a large District project within Newcastle.

As part of the pool, you’ll have the opportunity to register your interest in exciting roles as they come available, some of which will be at short notice. There may be short-term opportunities, such as helping to launch a new project, section or other provision, to interviewing new leaders or attending committee meetings and ensuring that young people’s views and needs are represented, and there may also be long-term roles available.

Some members will find themselves a new role quickly and will be supported and mentored in their new role as part of the next steps as they move out of the pool. Some roles may be short-term roles and we will work with you to try to identify the best role for you based on the volunteer vacancies and District needs at the time. However, there is no guarantee of securing a District role by being in the role pool.

The purpose is to support the District Commissioner Team to ensure that young people in Scouting across the UK are involved and engaged in decisions that shape their Scouting experience; making the outcomes of the #SkillsForLife strategy a reality and to fulfil a need to recruit young people to roles in Scouts (often at short notice).

If you are involved in Scouting in Newcastle and aged 18-25 then you can join the role pool here.

If you require any further information about the role, or indeed would like an informal discussion about it, please contact [email protected]
